Here is Mikayla cheering at the 1st Girls Basketball game! She did FANTASTIC! They did a bunch of cheers & stunts also during 1/2 time. She so enjoyed it & is already thinking of next year. She came home & was teaching Miranda the cheers so she can do it in the stands! They all look great in their uniforms even tho I think the skirts are too short!

Here are some picture from the 1st band concert. They did FANTASTIC!!!! Mikayla's elementary music teacher even showed up to see them play. What a nice treat!

Willow Creeks 1st Sock Hop! Wow what a fun time for all. Middle Schoolers included! Miranda's school had its first ever Sock Hop tonight. It was completely free, music, dancing, eating snacks & drinking punch. What a way to spend a Friday evening. We picked up Jayde to come & join the fun. Emma showed up & the girls danced the night away. The big girls included Mikayla, Ryan, Dani, Brittney & Hannah & then about 3 more showed up. Mrs. Labrum, Miranda's teacher was even there dancing with the kids.

The 50's Girls! The new Pink Ladies
One way to keep the girls all together hula hoops! These are Middle schoolers!

We are so lucky to have such amazing friends & such an AWESOME school. We are hoping this is one of many dances!

YEAH! Finally here. Mikayla got her cheer uniform & her warm up jacket! She is still needing her shoes & warm up pants but hey the important stuff is here! Doesn't she look cute? The skirt seems a bit short for my mom in me but she is a cheerleader! :) She does have bloomers underneath it! Once we get the complete warm up & tennis shoes I will send more pictures. She starts cheering for the girls basketball next week so I will be taking a TON of pictures. She is very excited.

Wow What a night! The Lone Star Cheerleaders had their harvest party at The Knight's home. It started at 7 and we got home at 10:30! There were about 30 girls there! They played games, did karaoke, team building activities, scavenger hunt and had TONS of sweets! Each girl had to wear a crazy hat & socks. Some of the girls were very very creative. Oh forgot to mention the bonfire & they roasted marshmallows. I think they did it all! Ms. Powell has a fantastic group of girls that make up the Lone Star Cheerleaders!

Today, Mikayla, Ryan, Jana, Samantha & Nicole all went to the Purity Conference. It started at 10 and ended at 6. The 1st half of the day was guest speakers that talked to the teens about sex before marriage. Mikayla said that the talks were "weird" and uncomfortable that in the end she said she was glad she went. We had a good talk about it afterwards. Also, they had a fashion show, strength training, Rock Band on a HUGE screen for the kids to play & at the end Christian recording artist Josh Rosenthal. WOW he was amazing. Mikayla LOVED him. She said that he is her new favorite singer. I ended up buying both of his cd's. It was a great experience & I am so blessed that these girls were apart of it. The church that puts this on tries to do it every year. So you can bet she will be there next year. At first I thought she might be too young to listen to this but, I see it as a great learning experience that she will always remember. Go to myspace.com/joshrosenthal to hear this amazing singer. It was a busy day but in the end it was worthwhile.

What a fun 5 days off these girls have had. Miranda had her friend Cali over & then Courtney came over & they decided to collect worms in a bad! YUCK!!!! Ryan came over to hang out & them Mikayla headed to Marissa's b'day party for th weekend. We had another volleyball game to work & Ryan helped out. Were were a bit slower than normal so the girls had fun taking pictures & just goofing off! The Heavy Weight Boys football team did win so GO LONGHORNS!!! So after a long weekend off the girls are back in school. Mikayla got a "pre" semester report card & is doing really good straight A's and that is also in her 8th grade math. Pretty proud of her! Miranda starts gymnastics next week & is no longer in dance. She is pretty happy to start gymnastics. She was tired of dance so here is the next chapter in her book! Well that is the update for now. Until next time!
